Auditions Ottawa

Meghan is an actor. She lives in Ottawa, she loves the stage and she’s taking some classes to improve her skill. She’s done some high school and community theatre but now she wants to branch out and get involved with other theatre companies. She’d also love to get on camera; get in the movies, maybe even just as an extra to start.

But how does she find the auditions?

Then: Meghan would conduct a couple of Google searches: “Finding Auditions in Ottawa.” “Where can I find auditions in Ottawa?” “Are there any movie auditions in Ottawa?” She would also make a list of all the theatre companies she knew, perhaps running another Google search: “What are some theatre companies in Ottawa?” She would check their websites and she would also join their Facebook groups or pages. Upwards of maybe two dozen. She’d find and get on a couple newsletters like OttawaTheatre.ca. Of course, she’d also have to recheck all those websites and Facebook groups regularly to see what came up.

As we and our good friend Kevin Sorbo often say: “It’s never easy.”

The idea behind Auditions Ottawa, our manifesto if you will, is simple:

• The more companies that use Auditions Ottawa to post their auditions, the more useful the audition board will be to actors.
• The more useful the audition board is to actors, the more actors will make the site their first stop when looking for auditions and casting calls in Ottawa.
• The more actors that stop by, the more useful the audition board will be to companies doing casting.
• The more useful the audition board is to companies, the more companies will use Audition Ottawa to post their auditions.

It’s win-win for everybody. This is your audition board, Ottawa.
